the ice in Jakarta is really dirty! or rather their tap water. their ice is probably made from tap water. All I had was a cup of cold beverage with ice and I've been coughing for about a week. Since young I've always had this problem whenever I drank the ice in Malaysia as well. Think I'm sensitive or allergic or something. I've no problem with Singapore's though! even if I sometimes drink the tap water here I don't get cough. their water must be really dirty or I must be very weak. lol.
My dad brought us to some buffet place in Jakarta which was one of the best buffets I've ever eaten. There was such a wide variety of food to choose from, from pasta to sashimi to oysters and cockles to teppanyaki to cheese -okay I didn't try these because the last time I went near one type of cheese known as blue cheese, I nearly vomited! smells just like rotten eggs. There was also dessert! the dessert was really really good. Chocolate fondue, creme brulee, and tiramisu just to name a few. And there's also sliced fruits- ok this is nothing special but the fruits are sliced so nicely and placed in a nice little bowl so it looks really pretty. and the best of the lot, to me at least, FROZEN YOGHURT! imagine going for a BUFFET of frozen yoghurt! the amount of toppings there available for you to choose was imba. chopped strawberries, kiwis, peaches, mangoes, colored rice/ sprinkles, corn flakes, chopped almonds, walnuts, puffed chocolate rice, and many many more... :DD over here in Singapore it's like $5 for a medium sized cup plus ONE topping. the portion they served per serving was more than our medium cup over here, plus I got to spam all of my favourite toppings. I was just really happy. kept eating and eating! I ended up going for 3 rounds of frozen yoghurt. pity I forgot to bring my camera that day! or I could have taken a picture of the delectable dessert section. :D price of the buffet? around $38 equivalent in Singapore dollars. very worth it! The place is called Hotel Mulia, located in Jakarta, for interested peeps. lol.
