hoho. the Christmas party was great. :D started off quite bad though coz when I left house it was pouring. Shared cab with Jingwen from Tanah Merah MRT all the way to the Civil Service Club at Farrer Park. Or at least that's what we thought. The cab fare was $18.10! STEAM. lol. reach there, get out of the taxi and Jingwen gets a phone call and the next thing we know is that we went to the wrong one should be the one at CHANGI so what we do? All cab back lor. Lucky the cab we took is Silvercab haven't increase price yet so cheaper but still $15.00 LOL. Within one hour take taxi two times what a move! Oh ya Jingwen your bible and earpiece still with me and I owe you a dollar. =D

Theme was "Ugly is Beautiful" so people came up with loads of funny/ugly/mismatched attires. Jingwen was really SEXY! lol. Darren really looked like those type whole day sit at coffee shop play chess type haha. If you had just walked into the room you might have thought you were at a Halloween Party instead. lol. Yingxuan's attire reminded me of how gypsies dress up. Really comical!

Bel has a really HUGEEE mouth. Still can't believe he can actually fit 12 marshmallows inside!
haha when he walk out with Darren during the pageant thing I really laugh until cannot laugh anymore. Jingwen too! You guys rock man, damn amusing. haha. =D

LOL. I was supposed to see a meteor shower at East Coast Park yesterday with a few of the 18/06 peeps. supposedly "the best one there is so far" according to Kiran lol. we arrived at the beach and the weather was like WHOA. see clouds more like it hahaha. so we ended up playing pool at Parkway and I left after that. sorry guys! Kangsheng and I left together leaving Tze Woon alone with Yanhing Yilin and Kiran haha I hope they had fun. Tze Woon still go sms me say "wa the weather is so clear and we can see many stars..." ... LOL. I'm sure! Oh yes and I learnt what is 9-ball today and how it is played. Quite fun!

I managed to catch a bus to Chicken's house where we played dota dota and more dota because Darling Darren who said there would be mahjong in the morning when we woke up ended up being more interested in his Darling PSP. and so.. yup. At 4am like that we walked out to the prata shop for some snack lol. Quite shiok it's been so long since I ate such food at that kind of funny timing lol. =D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY lim-ZY! You are one year STRONGER already please don't crush all the guys you meet in Army. =D

And yes I read Zhaoxiang's blog and he said he'll be going away and it reminded me that I should do the same on my blog. I'll be going to Malaysia this Tuesday and I'll be back on Saturday so pardon me if I don't reply! =D not expecting much la actually coz I think the number of times I been to Malaysia even more than the number of times I travelled to the West of this country. HAHA.

On Tuesday was SENTOSA with the climbers! thankfully the weather was quite alright and we had a great time. =D beach volleyball and beach soccer! Volleyball captains Zoe and Michelle showing us how to play volleyball lol. I tried climbing one of the coconut trees and plucked one but inside no juice one not fun haha. the pictures will come soon.. there's this funny picture of Darren like he's advertising for some volleyball advertisement. haha.

had dinner at Secret Recipe with my family that day. the food was not bad honestly. Only they didn't give free water and so we had to buy bottle water 330ml for 50 cents haha quite small thing la but my mother keep making a fuss lol. We shared 3 slices of cake and their Banana Chocolate cake is really nice. =) award-winning I think. Sorry climbers and 18/06 guys I'd have loved to join you all at Pastamania and Cityhall but I only have one mouth. =D LOL. next time!

Stayover at Darren's place! his house is really inaccessible but his dog is really cute! his name is Romeo. Darren shaved off a lot of his hair so he would look a bit more like the owner. =D hahahaha. just kidding. we had a lot of fun lazing around and having nothing to do and their imagination was really good to come up with all sorts of funny songs and lyrics to sing about. especially Weicheng! haha. must be the vodka he drank. oh yes Absolut Raspberry+7-up is a good combo according to Weicheng. I shall try it someday. =D We played some mahjong, but it was really all quite friendly lol. Darren was some pro to zi-mo a Ping Hu! 3 and 5 waiting for 4 also can take himself. haha. Jingwen nearly got a huge electric shock when he plugged in the plug for the fan into some old socket I think there was this huge spark damn bright and big like the same one when you burn magnesium just that this one was fast. and loud. lol. Bel looked like some lobster after getting sunburnt at Sentosa he was really, really red! oh yes thanks guys for the cake as well haha.

Junyu and I left Darren's house@ Hougang at 7.25pm for The Waterside Condo at Kallang and we reached there at like 9pm. LOL. yup that is how convenient it is to travel from Darren's house but what to do there got a cute dog so I don't mind going again. Ok la a nice owner too =D haha. I ate like 6 marshmallows 1 chickenwing 2 otahs and 1 piece of taiwanese sausage but we ate a bit before that already courtesy of Darren and his maid. Thanks Alan and Jeff for all the trouble! It's been a while since I last saw the rest of them haha sort of a gathering before some of them enlist in the next few days. Take care of yourselves in there, Kenghao and Weikian. =) do your country proud. haha. all the pictures will come soon! feeling kind of lazy now. lol sorry!

On the first day Darren walked into our room and surveyed the place as if doing some equipment check. He walked into the toilet and saw 2 big bottles of shampoo and conditioner, which belonged to Graham.

Darren: Wa this one whose one?

Graham: Mine.

Darren: Huh your bags got space meh?

Graham and me: Why don't have.

Darren: Huh but then you all got so many Ang Gong already what.

LOL. He wanted to say "barang barang" but ended up saying "anggong" instead which basically means a "tattoo". hahaha. damn funny when he say that time we laugh to ourselves for dunno how long.




On our last night we went to this vegetarian restaurant. The food is really quite good! especially the deep-fried carrots haha I've never eaten anything like it before.











It was Yuxin's birthday too! so yup, there was this mini celebration but nevertheless it was sweet. =D






We had some drinks with Philip and Kelly after that. I had a Stinger and Screwdriver after Bel decided to help me with the Bloody Mary (it was really quite awful trust me.) Bel kind of liked it though. He has interesting taste! Thanks Bel, haha. =D Siying was kind of drunk and high after that and she was REALLY quite amusing haha.

Me: Eh Siying don't cross first. Got car.

Siying: I'm crossing! (in a high-pitched and crazy kind of tone) (and then she proceeded to skip across with both her hands at her sides like a penguin lol lucky we held her back)

damn funny. I did some crazy stuff too. let's see, I crossed a road backwards, threw my can of drink that slipped from my hand into someone's house, and jumped over a motorcycle. Crazy enough. LOL. I challenged Joey to jump over 2 motorcycles! He must have thought I was barking mad hahaha. =D

Oh yes by the way, halfway down the street from our resthouse there's this tailor shop. Outside it there's this huge sign and on it these are the exact words:


LOL. JOKE! We all know what they are trying to tell us right, that the shop can tailor both men and women's clothes and it only takes one day to finish, but their choice of words is so amusing! We had a really good laugh over that sign throughout the trip. Sounds kind of wrong huh! I'll leave it to your imagination. =)

Going out in the middle of the night in such cold weather to have piping hot hotdogs from the hotdog stand is really quite cool, especially on our last night there. It's really warm and cosy for ten plus people to squeeze into the small room to play Bridge too. x)

yayy it's the start of blogging season again for me. been desperately trying to but my silly modem was spoilt and I just got it changed haha. here's me and the adventures of Chiang Mai. =D

Chiang Mai is a really nice place. Though the air is kind of not as clean as Singapore, there is a generally stress-free mood in the air around the place. Life is not as fast-paced, and did I mention THE FOOD IS GREAT. =) During the trip, GRAHAM THE PROM KING was my roomie. He's been really nice, always waking me up and waiting for me for breakfast and stuff. haha I have this sacred picture of him in his Thai Boxer boxers but I'm forbidden to put it here. had fun debating the price in Chinese with him before he finally bought it. =D haha.

I really love this photo! the redness of the taxi acts like a frame to enhance the beauty of the photo. oh yes we're sitting in a taxi by the way, taken on the way to our resthouse which is called The Bluehouse. And it is literally BLUE I tell you.

The crags in Chiang Mai are really spectacular. More 3-dimensional than Batu Caves I would say. There were routes that spanned across multiple pitches just to reach the anchor like hundred over metres up. The good thing is that the air is drier and temperature is cool, making it excellent weather to climb in because our shirts don't end up sweaty and stinky lol. And there are less mosquitoes too! =) haha. My thinking on this trip was slightly different from the other climbing trips. I was less concerned with finishing the routes this time and just had fun taking pictures and more pictures of people and the scenery. It's a great feeling to be several metres above ground and having these mini mental and physical battles between you and the wall. Sometimes people try to tell you about the route or how a particular move on the route is going to be like but it's a different feeling when you discover it yourself. According to Graham the pro, it's a scary yet exciting feeling when you feel like falling on a route but in the end you don't and make it to the top eventually. Here are the routes I did:

My favourite route of all would probably be Blood, Love and Steel. Really technical, without really good parts to rest at the bottom and middle where the cruxes are. It's really long too, so from the top the view around is really quite spectacular. I hanged on it though I would have loved to complete it in one attempt. Two routes I'd loved to try but didn't get to would be Destiny (6B) and The Balance of Power (7A+). Really cool names don't you think so? =) haha. Wonder if I'll be able to go back someday. hopefully!

Oh yes by the way the breakfasts are really good! Really, really good stuff. We're given a choice of French Toast, Breakfast croissant, American breakfast or Granola Bowl. The granola bowl is really nutritious and yummy with all the fresh fruits and yoghurt inside. Its so colourful that it gives you this bright start to your new climbing day haha. Bel loved the baked potatoes so much that he even got the recipe from the chef lol. next time anyone hungry we know who to find! =D

The Year Ones are really nice. Jingwen and Darren kept making fun of Zoe. "Eee.. got bee...!" in her trademark style hahaha. I really got to know them a lot better in the one week than all the trainings we had together in the past. I had fun taking photos for them and with them. It really makes a difference when you use a good camera and a lousy camera, I've realised, because lousy photos look good on good cameras. many thanks to my sis for the camera. =D
