Pumpfest!
Date: Monday, May 31, 2010 || Time: 11:55 PM
Pumpfest was whoa! many thanks to eelin elmo chicken bel junyu rongjun and darren for coming to support limzy and me! okay I guess I performed slightly better than boulderactive? 2 bonuses the last time and 3 this time. but still no tops. sad! my last route I should have made it count.. lol wasted. the red volume was damn nice la. its okay, better luck for rockmaster! hopefully weicheng can join together with me.. :)

Inter Men Qualifiers Route Two

couldn't end! puzzling route. lol.

Inter Men Qualifiers Route 5!

wasted I nearly finished!

going for the last move with about 20 seconds to spare on the clock.. maybe I was too hasty!

Ponti is really the climbing god! the way he finished the three routes for the finals was just amazingggg. :D I will aspire to be as stable as him on the wall... haha.

so from the way things are looking right now it seems like I'll be heading to NTU! what an uncertain period it has been for me.. especially April and May.. because I was awaiting replies from the universities and so didn't dare to go ahead and book my student visa for Monash coz it costs A$540 and non-refundable.. then also unsure whether to buy stuff for Monash like a bigger suitcase or some winter wear and stuff so all my preparations were put on hold. I still remember what the NTU professor told me towards the end of the interview: "you didn't do so well for your A levels, but you did very well for your O levels. Come to university and show your true potential." lol. he also a bit joker. told him I was from TJC then he told the other professor there the rojak very nice.. one day bring him try.. haha.. then he also said he always sends his daughter there for tuition.. ERR! so I'll just wait and see what NUS and SMU say.. :)

Nandos on thursday!

interview
Date: Thursday, May 20, 2010 || Time: 10:41 PM
Oh well I think I did okay for the interview.. many thanks to elmo and shalynn for directions! but the joke of the day is that I alighted at the wrong stop. one stop earlier. I thought of waiting for the next bus, and then I thought 'ehh it's only one stop might as well walk", since it looked so near on the map. So I started walking and it wasn't exactly near! okay maybe it wasn't that far but it was upslope and all so I started to sweat and felt kind of sian. lol. NTU is HUGE.

one and a half hour travelling time from my house! what a move.

1 week to pumpfest!

CHOCO-MONKEY
Date: Sunday, May 16, 2010 || Time: 1:06 AM
Ben & Jerry's CHOCOLATE MACADAMIA and CHUNKY MONKEY is yummy! would definitely recommend it to all ice-cream lovers out there.. :D

Chocolate Macadamia actually contains chocolate-coated macadamia nuts that have a slightly saltish taste so when eaten together with the chocolate and vanilla ice-cream, it gives a taste that is quite unique.. :)

Chunky Monkey is banana ice-cream that contains chocolate fudge chunks and walnuts.. it's quite light and refreshing.. there's quite a lot of chocolate chunks in there too! some sort of like dark chocolate.

go try them! :D

hot hot hot hot hot
Date: Thursday, May 6, 2010 || Time: 4:45 PM
the weather is so damn HOTTTTTT!!! wonder how are we all going to survive in Singapore in like 5 years time. 24 hours switch on air-con??? then we're going to contribute more to global warming and we're going to switch on more air-con again and the cycle continues... what a sad fate.

I could think of a few reasons why I'd want to leave for Australia and a few other reasons why I don't. Let's see..

Want to go:
- the weather is killing me! I'd love to experience the four seasons over there
- school is supposedly less stressful I heard. It may be easier to score over there
- there are fruits over there that sell cheap like strawberries and nectarines and they happen to be my favourites so can just whack. lol.
- good to experience living alone and learning to cook and stuff. hopefully I'll become more independent!

Don't want to go:
- I'll miss all the climbing fever over here! like all the climbing with friends or climbing comps.
- I'll miss my mum's home-cooked food. lol. I'll have to survive like a refugee over there.
- I will miss the friends!
- school fees are more expensive over there. plus the living expenses. but not a big deciding factor I guess.

sometimes, it's not always good when we have too many choices..

let it flowwww

the ice in Jakarta is really dirty! or rather their tap water. their ice is probably made from tap water. All I had was a cup of cold beverage with ice and I've been coughing for about a week. Since young I've always had this problem whenever I drank the ice in Malaysia as well. Think I'm sensitive or allergic or something. I've no problem with Singapore's though! even if I sometimes drink the tap water here I don't get cough. their water must be really dirty or I must be very weak. lol.

My dad brought us to some buffet place in Jakarta which was one of the best buffets I've ever eaten. There was such a wide variety of food to choose from, from pasta to sashimi to oysters and cockles to teppanyaki to cheese -okay I didn't try these because the last time I went near one type of cheese known as blue cheese, I nearly vomited! smells just like rotten eggs. There was also dessert! the dessert was really really good. Chocolate fondue, creme brulee, and tiramisu just to name a few. And there's also sliced fruits- ok this is nothing special but the fruits are sliced so nicely and placed in a nice little bowl so it looks really pretty. and the best of the lot, to me at least, FROZEN YOGHURT! imagine going for a BUFFET of frozen yoghurt! the amount of toppings there available for you to choose was imba. chopped strawberries, kiwis, peaches, mangoes, colored rice/ sprinkles, corn flakes, chopped almonds, walnuts, puffed chocolate rice, and many many more... :DD over here in Singapore it's like $5 for a medium sized cup plus ONE topping. the portion they served per serving was more than our medium cup over here, plus I got to spam all of my favourite toppings. I was just really happy. kept eating and eating! I ended up going for 3 rounds of frozen yoghurt. pity I forgot to bring my camera that day! or I could have taken a picture of the delectable dessert section. :D price of the buffet? around $38 equivalent in Singapore dollars. very worth it! The place is called Hotel Mulia, located in Jakarta, for interested peeps. lol.
