Before we know it, BSLC has come to an end... it's fast, really fast. Just when you've strengthened some of the bonds with some people, everything has to end and you need to start forging new bonds again. It's always like that. Army seems to be about meeting new people and working with different people, isn't it. lol. somehow, I feel that this course passed much faster than BMT. Maybe it's because the schedule is so packed that you don't realise how much time is passing by.
The
28km Graduation March that ended yesterday morning was really damn long and tiring... both mentally and physically. from Kranji War Memorial all the way back to camp. to be marching in full battle order when your body keeps wanting to sleep... the feeling is quite hard to describe. quite crazy I must say. All the little breaks in between didn't even seem like 15 minutes.. by the time we did some stretching and filled up our water bottles there was barely enough time to rest... now I know why Junyu said it was damn tiring in his blog that time.. seriously I think this was the most shag feeling I ever felt in my whole army life.. there were some parts where I was just sleeping and walking.. then sometimes I either walked out of line or stepped on some stone or something but luckily didn't sprain ankle. The worst stretch was from the 20km to the 24km march.. because my mind kept telling myself that's it's going to be over soon but yet another part of my mind telling myself that there's still another 4km after this 4km.. that feeling, steam. At the last stretch, when we were quietly walking through NTU, the road seemed never-ending. It just seemed to go up and up and up then turn, then see a long stretch in front of us, then turn, then go up and up again. but when we finally stepped out of NTU I didn't care about any pain or whatsoever in my legs or shoulders already. I just told myself that in about two hours I'll be getting my corporal rank and I just moved on and on.. now I'm happy and proud that I made it and didn't fall out or anything. :)
I'm posted to
Field Defence Squadron, Paya Lebar Airbase by the way. I was quite surprised by the posting honestly.. my mind was all prepared to be posted to ASLC.. some more I expressed interest 100% to go Infantry. haha. our company didn't want to release the postings until about afternoon sia.. we had to clean area return stores and everything before they released. lol. the feeling quite exciting sia. like waiting for O Level results like that. quite sad to leave SISPEC but also excited at the same time.. the feeling of going to a new place, and even more so since it's an airbase where I can see nice planes. haha. the best part is that it's nearer to home this time. oh yes and 4 others from my section went there too so I guess life will be better with them around . =D
I came across this in Darren's blog and I have exactly the same sentiments man! haha.
"its like. you do things because you know you wont have a chance to in the next 5-7days to come. even if the urge is not there, you just do it. to just let yourself feel better and tell yourself: see i've done this, i've done that over the weekends. i've done all i could to spend my weekend well and to utilise it while i can."
So, I guess my weekend was quite well spent so far. Firstly I had the most shiokadoo sleep of about twelve hours.. damn long never sleep twelve hours la. Past few days in camp all like 5 hours 5 hours. when the fatigue accumulates it can be tiring man. lol. After that I went to catch
Meet Dave with kenghao weikian chekliang and weechuan.quite funny, quite nice. laughed like hell at some parts haha. After that weechuan drove us down to Bugis to have Tian Tian Steamboat. lol the queue was quite long man but that's because the food was quite nice, so we had no problems with that. thanks weechuan for sending us home! quite cool to watch a friend drive sia. feels kind of different coz usually I watch my parents drive. Next time it shall be my turn! but that will be a long next time from now. hahaha.
EPL has started again! yayyy. =D
