This week has been a very tiring and hectic week for everyone in PLAB.. lol. Why? Because of the
RSAF Open House that comes once every two years and so lucky it must happen during my NS life. But it's okay, the experience was good. Though it was tiring, it was fun. haha. It isn't every day that you get to meet pilots up close to chit-chat, or maybe just getting to stand under the wing of a F-16 Black Knight aircraft. :)
My duty was pretty relaxed as compared to my other friends who had to do traffic marshalling and stuff. I and 3 other guys basically had to take turns to man this booth that advertised our unit--Field Defence Squadron, and just give them a brief intro to some of the gadgets used in our base. The weather has been funny though, at times it'd be scorching hot then at other times there would be huge heavy raindrops falling on our heads. Poor guys... a few of them came back with red lobster V-necks. lol.
Oh yes yesterday I was one of the lucky few selected for a Chinook ride. =D damn cool man, we flew from our base to MacRitchie Reservoir, Sentosa and East Coast before coming back to camp, taking a total of 15 minutes. A once in a lifetime experience, I must say. It isn't like sitting in a plane where the cabin is usually pressurised. The Chinook doesn't really fly that high actually, but still below the clouds, so the rear ramp is always open during the flight. Jesseca Liu came too! but wasted I wasn't there to see. haha but it's ok coz I was on the Chinook and the experience was worth it. :D
Collected quite a few freebies too! haha.. my favourite was this red little tag with the words "
REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT" printed in white on it. it's very nice.. similar to the ones stuck to a lot of parts of the aircraft that were on display. I was looking forward to a Black Knights aerial display actually, but nevertheless the display put up was good. Oh my mum, sis and her boyfriend came to visit today too, and brought lots of yummy goodies along.. thanks again! :)
Had fever about two nights ago, just a night before it was open to the public. Temperature was 38.3. lol. what a move. luckily my friend had panadol then I sweated it out overnight and it was gone in the morning. but now I can sense an impending sore throat. sad sia. The food that came in the ration packets all either got fry or something one, eat everyday sure sore throat. haha but what to do, also cannot don't eat. so,
SUCK THUMB :D
